Claudia Hildebrandt
German Language educator
My own educational journey began with legal studies at the University of Hannover & Heidelberg. After graduation from law school, I obtained my full qualification as a lawyer (in 2000), passing the bar exam at the Higher Regional Court of Munich in Bavaria. I then transitioned professionally into the corporate and consulting world as as an audit assistant to conduct accounting and real estate investment fonds audits.
In 2018 attended a year-long course by the Goethe Institut on “Methodology and Didaktik for Learning German as a Second Language”. In 2025, I expanded my knowledge and expertise with a program for Neurolanguage Coaching, which has been deepening my understanding of how our brains function and process new languages, and information in general. I’m excited to bring this knowledge into my work to empower my learners and help them achieve more efficient and consistent learning results.
For the past years, I’ve been focusing on developing and conducting work-relatedly tailored German instructions, helping professionals achieve their language goals through personalized, engaging lessons. I have also been lucky to have been having the chance to teach legal German to professionals which is a wonderful way of combining my first education with language teaching.
In 1993, while studying law, I began my teaching journey by instructing a Brazilian family who had recently relocated from Sao Paolo. Through regular and multiple sessions per week with the mother and her two children, I supported their transition and adaptation to life in Germany.
During my time in law school, I always enjoyed meeting and connecting with Erasmus students who had come to Germany for one or two semesters to study law. It was always a pleasure for me to help them to improve their German and to proofread their work.
As of 2003, I embraced a truly global lifestyle, living across Asia, the United States, and various European countries. During this time, I raised my children while actively engaging in volunteer work, including teaching German to people from diverse backgrounds. My invaluable insights that I gained from my international experiences make it very easy for me to connect with any culture.
In 2020, I had the idea to create my own interactive material for my learners. My main parameters for this material were to provide a form of practice with a relatively small vocabulary that is repetitively used in different forms of exercises to built a solid foundation of grammar concepts. The goal was to emphasize the use of language, specifically the oral use of German.
As I’m also an avid artist, I crafted an artistic design to the material to make it visually more attractive. This can be found here on my website as an eBook, and individual material on my Blog.
